Sebastopol Weather:
Its time to put away that summer wardrobe and put on the flannel and the wool beanie. Put on some skinny jeans and pointed shoes and you will look just like the Sebastopol hipsters. Or you could just bring that jacket you wore last year. Anyway, lets look at some things going on near the house in November that you might like to do:
Joseph Phelps Vineyards in Freestone is having an event November 10 showcasing local wines with autumn inspired soups. Or was that local soups with autumn inspired wines? . Click here and find out.
The Black Brothers Band is playing November 9 at the Occidental Center For The Arts. This looks like a good time. Go to dinner at the Union Hotel and then see the band at 8P.M.. Can I come?
The Farallons are playing at the Occidental Center for the Arts on November 23rd at 730 P.M. And here I thought the Farallons were some jagged rocks off the coast of San Francisco. Go figure.
The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center is having a wild work day at 1pm on November 14th. Grub in the dirt, learn about stuff. The site is beautiful and worth walking around for sure. Late breakfast at Howards Station first? Good call.
Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers are playing November 15th at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center. She is a Jazz Diva and apparently a skillet licker. Doors open at 715 P.M. Skillets optional.
The Kathy Kallick Bluegrass Band is playing Novenmber 23rd at 8 P.M. in Sebastopol. I love bluegrass! Especially when they are serving catfish sandwiches.
Forestville Farmers Market is happening every other Tuesday beginning November 5th.
Hopmonk Tavern is a cool venue in downtown Sebastopol. Americana cuisine and live entertainment may be just the thing you need on a cozy November night. Check out their lineup here.
The Barlow is as close to one stop shopping as you get in Sebastopol. Several wineries and brewing companies are represented there as well as art galleries, markets, etc. So if you're missing the mall, this one is pretty cool.
Florence Avenue in Sebastopol is worth a drive or better yet, a walk through. Patrick Amiot is a clever fellow and would not be offended if you thought his sculptures were pieces of junk. Click here for a map.
Occidental Center for the Arts: Like what you see in west Sonoma County? Your enthusiasm is shared by the artists on exhibit November 9 - Jan 5, all four of whom live near Occidental.
Dutton Winery is having a wine pour designed to pair your favorite food with one of their wines. Every weekend from now until the 24th. I wonder what wine they would suggest for meatloaf?
Last Blast for warm weather the weekend of 11/22. It's not too late!
Enjoy! Life is good in November.
