Green Music Center:
Hopmonk Tavern Sebastopol:
Occidental Center for the Arts: Spark and whisper, Feb 8th at 4pm. I'm a folk music fan and this looks like a fun evening.
Occidental Center for the arts: Feb 14th at 8pm Teresa Tudury: Pucker up for a fun evening of comedy and music!
Freestone: Feb 8th 12-4 pm at Joseph Phelps tasting room. Sample some wines, check out the megalopolis of Freestone and all it has to offer. Look on my local attractions page for more things about Freestone.
The Bohemian Highway Band: Feb. 21st at the French Garden Bistro in Sebastopol: I went to high school with Nancy Irish who is married to Doug Blumer who is the main guy in this band. I have their latest CD which is very entertaining. So if you are looking for fine quisine and local talent about six minutes from the house, this evening is for you.
Update: I am looking but just not finding a lot of inspiring events in February!! You might just have to go out to dinner or have a cozy evening at the house. Frankly, that's what most of the guests do! If you are in the mood for a stroll around some truly huge redwoods, check out my "things to do " page and take the short and scenic drive out to the Old Grove of Trees. I took my 600 pound St. Bernard (ain't he cute?) out there last month and he whiffled around and had a ball. It's at least as good as Armstrong Redwoods without people!
I was hiking in Big Sur last week and came upon a redwood that was well over 2000 years old. A smaller redwood had fallen over the trail upstream of this one and I estimated the rings on the fallen tree to be about 1800 years old. My life was less than an inch of rings! Redwoods are one of the few trees that can absorb water from the atmosphere. That's one of the reasons they can grow so tall. Anyway, a quiet stroll through the giant relics is good for ya. Give it a go!
Update 1/27/2015: Looks like the drought isn't ready to give it up after all. January has been sunny and warm with very little in the way of rain. I have a hunch based on past experience that it will let loose in February.
Update 2/7/2015: Raining like crazy! Power was out two times in the last two days but has been restored. A lot of wind but luckily no down trees or damage on the property.
I will scope it out!
